747 WORDS – A 3.2-Minute Read
I wasn’t sure about sharing this one, Pirates!
What’s the challenge for the day today?
Knowing when your love will make all the difference.
The Challenge
Every creator has a moment when they wonder if people will care.
We get past the fear and ship it, not knowing what the actual response might be. Cheers🥂🥂🥂 or Crickets 🦗🦗🦗
At a certain point, we decide to create, ship, and stop wondering what the outcome might be.
We have to develop the faith that either way, it’s OK.
So when you create something with love, you pour yourself into it and share it. We have to believe.
Considerations
I want to share a story with you about loss and love. I was choked up about this one. It hit home.
My Mother will be 87 this year and has been making quilts for years and was always sharing them with love with her kids and grandkids.
I cherish mine and know it’s filled with love.
Fast Forward.
My Sister had put one of Mom’s quits in my Brother in law’s truck in case he ever needed it in an emergency.
A friend called him in a panic one day and shared that his wife was just transported to the hospital.
He asked my brother if he would go to the hospital as he was three hours away from the hospital, and he was concerned about his wife.
Being a family friend, he gladly went to the hospital to see what he could do.
When he got to the hospital, he found his friend’s wife, who said she was freezing.
My Brother grabbed the quilt from his truck and wrapped her up to comfort her.
I love my Brother… He’s awesome and would do anything for anyone.
His friend arrived later, and he left the blanket wrapped around his wife to keep her comfortable.
Later that evening, she was checked out of the hospital to go home, where she would be more comfortable.
She wanted to rest and watch TV when they arrived home later that night.
She was still wrapped up in the blanket made by Mom with Love.
Her husband woke later in the night to see why his wife failed to come to bed.
He found he wrapped up in the blanket… She had passed away.
She was still wrapped in the quilt filled with a Mother’s love.
Mom poured her love into the quilt and helped someone feel comfort for a moment.
Words cannot express my love and gratitude for everyday gifts we may never even notice.
A Loving Husband
After the funeral, the widower asked if there was any way he could keep the quilt. It was a way to remember his wife.
The answer was yes… and my Mother cried knowing her work and loving act meant so much to someone she had never met.
You Matter. What you create with love will make an impact.
You may not know how and you may not know when.
When you pour love into your creative process, you have to believe you are making a difference. #makeitmatter
Prayers to the family and friends. 🙏🙏🙏
