I want to welcome you to The Pirate Syndicate newsletter. This journey of discovery is for creators by creators.

Now, when I say by creators, I’m the first creator, and I’ve had some other people start creating and would like to recruit additional people to contribute to the newsletter.

So who is this for?

This newsletter is for online creators and individuals like a solopreneur. They want to be independent. They want to go out as a nomadic traveler or somebody that’s a freelancer.

Like a Pirate 🏴‍☠️❤️🏴‍☠️

The Challenge

Anyone producing content, learning the creative process, getting better at it, getting feedback from the community, and ensuring they produce results.

What’s the challenge? Well, the biggest challenge is getting started. A lot of us, you know, fear the camera.

We fear the microphone.

We fear the exposure to being judged and measured by the community.

In reality, nobody really cares.

However, if you’re consistent and you continue to put yourself out there, the people that resonate with you will come and find you.
 

Considerations

What are the considerations you need to think about?

What’s the worst possible thing that can happen, and what’s the best possible thing that can happen?

The best possible thing that can happen is building a community around your subject and your ideas, and the things you’re passionate about.

Creating content is a fantastic journey for so many.

I’ve been doing this for 13 years and have been developing websites since 2007.

I was a musician early in my career, so I’ve always had a streak of independence.

I’ve always been a Pirate 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

I’ve always had a side hustle doing something creative with my content, or even before social media, I had something going on because I always felt like there was something more to add.

Creative Content

There’s more value to create, and there are opportunities out there.

So the creation process, if we look at the creation process, I want to make sure that we have the tools, and that’s one of the things that I love to do, is share the tools that we can use to create content, whether it’s a live stream, a podcast, a blog post, a website.

You know, words, images, audio, and video.

We can go after those four categories, and I want to ensure you can meet with other people. And this community, The Pirate Syndicate, is a vehicle to do that.

Conclusions

I’m trying this video thing out. I because I love video and it makes it easy.

Here’s a how-to.

I take the video, record it in Ecamm live (which could be recorded in other formats) then import it to descript.

Then the transcription is copied into Gammerly for editing for the newsletter.

I post it in the newsletter. So I’d love to get your feedback.
